Santa Paws

The other night, I met my friend at the mall; we both brought our dogs with us to take a picture with Santa. We planned to meet at 6pm, and I planned to do a little shopping after the Santa Paws "photo shoot."After the photo shoot with Santa, I walked towards Macy's with my little fluff ball in her stroller. We stopped to take a few pictures outside the store, and talked to some people who were curious about what breed of dog I had, etc.

A puddle of pee greeted us at the start of the line.

"It wasn't my dog, she went before we came in!" I said to the maintenance person whose job it was to clean up the mess.

This was my friend's idea, and we were both a little nervous and concerned about there being any pet parents who couldn't control their dogs and any unwanted confrontations happening. So we were a little tense and "on guard." My girl was in her pet stroller, with the top down and the sides all sealed shut - protected.

My friend and I decided to have both of our dogs together in the picture with Santa, and I treated for the cost. Our pets know each other from when my friend used to live next door. While in line, we chatted and laughed and waited for our turn with Santa. There were people with children standing in the line with us, and people with pets sprinkled in between.

This was my first time ever doing something like this with my dog. My friend did it before at another mall, and she said at the other mall, a woman showed up with six miniature ponies! When the ponies came in, the look on that Santa's face was priceless. No ponies tonight. But it did seem like a dog show with one of each breed represented - me with the Bichon Frise in the non-sporting category, my friend with the sheep dog, a Saint Bernard, a collie, you name it.

After the photo shoot with Santa, I walked towards Macy's with my little fluff ball in her stroller. We stopped to take a few pictures outside the store, and talked to some people who were curious about what breed of dog I had, etc.
The kid behind the counter at the Hickory Farms kiosk gave us a s sample of Summer Sausage which our little Bichon enjoyed and so did I.
Happy Holidays!
